Our Mission

North Carolina Empowerment Organization is a 501c3 nonprofit founded upon the principle of advancing North Carolina and North Carolinians. We seek to empower North Carolinians to achieve social, educational, economic, and political self-determination through our pillars of civic engagement and education, mutual aid, and community investment.

Community Investment

Empowerment Education Training: Within the focus areas of Empowerment Education Training our programs will consist primarily of financial, self-care, and purpose-driven trainings. Our goal is to provide a holistic approach to empowerment of oneself.

Promoting Health and Wellness: Within the focus area of Promoting Health and Wellness our programs will consist of education campaigns and trainings slated primarily to racial equality in community health care and marginalized communities across North Carolina.

Environmental Justice: Within the focus area of Environmental Justice our programs will address environmental disparities within marginalized and rural communities throughout North Carolina. Toxic waste, air pollution, and water contamination are often concentrated in low-income areas and communities of color. This concentration can lead to higher rates of asthma, cancer, and other health problems.

Programs

  • Brother 2 Brother (B2B): This program entails of a prostate awareness campaign. In which we educate, primarily black and brown populations on the effects of prostate cancer, as well as how to cope and heal from prostate cancer. This program encompasses a support group centered around those who have been primarily affected by prostate cancer helping each other heal from and cope with prostate cancer.
